Information on Modified Parent Teacher Conferences and Report Cards – March 19 & 20

Parent Teacher Conferences were scheduled for Thursday March 19 and Friday March 20, when report cards would be distributed. However, the Diocese has ruled that due to concerns over the Corona virus, there will be no face to face meetings. Two copies of the signed report card will be sent home with students on Thursday March 19. You must sign one copy and send it back with the student. If schools are closed, we would email the report card to you during the day. For those parents who have outstanding tuition, you must complete the Board of Directors Request form before receiving your Report Cards. Friday March 20 would still be a half day of school (12:30 dismissal) with After-School available.

Guidelines for the Modified Conferences

Teachers will keep office hours during the original Conference schedule (Thursday 5:30pm – 7:00 pm and Friday 12:30 pm -2:00 pm) for communication via email or the system set up by the teacher (Remind, Dojo, etc).

Parents who are required to sign up for a phone conference will be notified on Monday March 16 (either by letter or Option C/Remind alert) These parents must log-in to their OptionC parent accounts, click on the registration link, and select a time.

Starting on Tuesday March 16, any other parent wishing to schedule a phone conference with a teacher, may do so via the OptionC Parent Teacher Conference Link (logging in under the parent name, not the student name). Even though the link will be available to you on Monday when the entire school’s OptionC registration begins, we ask that you wait a day out of consideration for the first group to sign-up for times, and then you may register.

Once a phone conference is set-up, the teachers will initiate the phone call at the time slot that has been selected by the parent. Since we only have two school phone lines to use, many teachers will use their cell phones with a *67 code, in order to maintain privacy, which may come up on your phone as “No Caller ID”, or something similar. Phone calls will be no longer than 10 minutes in order to keep appointments made with other teachers.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. And we thank everyone for the way they have remained calm, level-headed, and understanding during a very worrisome time. It has been greatly appreciated by all.
